Identikit (skin contact), by Marvla Tindo

Regular price £24.50

This is a powerful skin contact, or orange wine, made with white Pinot Gris grapes, that delivers huge flavour, freshness and texture.

The grapes, treated here like a red wine, have had 7 days maturation on their skins, imparting colour, tannins and maximum flavour compounds into the final wine. Further oak aging adds even greater texture and body.

The growing conditions also allow the wine to retain a lovely freshness, and it delivers some awesome flavours of pineapple and ginger. Mega.

Why we chose it?

We absolutely love how different and interesting this wine is. An amazing example of how wines made from the same grape can be so different with a unique mindset and winemaking philosophy.

Identikit

This is such a multi layered wine, from both a textural and flavour perspective. As well as exotic fruits and sweet spices, the volcanic soils where the grapes are grown add greater minerality and freshness. Great to drink now. And with its high levels of tannin and acidity, this wine will develop further in the bottle and keep well for up to 10 years!

The region...

Levice, Nitra

Levice sits within the wider Nitra wine region of Slovakia. Positioned in the lowlands of the Stiavnicke mountains, numerous different grape varieties can flourish, with both warmer vineyards and cooler air currents present. Grapes often retain a lovely level of acidity and freshness, and aromatic complexity is prioritised throughout.
