Geisha Dragon by Ver Sacrum

Regular price £23.00

The Geisha Dragon is bold white wine packed with flavour, but delivered with a light touch.

Created by a winemaker whose experimentation knows no bounds. It blends the Mediterranean grapes of Viognier and Marsanne, with the local grape Criolla Blanca. The majority of the grapes are fermented in open top concrete eggs, whilst 10% of the wine is aged separately in French barrels under a layer of Flor (yeast) - the same way Fino Sherry is made.

The result is an incredible wine packed full of interesting, complex flavours. Tropical fruits from the grapes, bready notes from the yeast. It’s richly textured but also incredibly fresh and vibrant.

Why we chose it?

A fantastic wine demonstrating innovative winemaking. It delivers flavour and complexity balanced with elegance.

A textured, elegant white wine.
The wine...

Geisha

An incredibly fresh wine giving the winemaking techniques involved. Unusually, both oxidative and reductive ageing styles have been blended together. This is certainly a wine you will talk about and remember. Goes well with food - pair it with lightly flavoured white meats, seafood, or vegetarian dishes that will complement the subtle complexity of the wine. Delicious.

Ver Sacrum

Ver Sacrum is a wine project led by Eduardo Soler, comprising a small group of forward thinking winemakers. This is unconventional winemaking, with experimentation at the heart, and a passion to bring back lost Mediterranean varieties (there is more to Argentina than Malbec). The approach is low intervention, to create high quality, fruit driven wines with precision.

The region...

Valle de Uco

The Uco Valley is highest part of the Mendoza wine region, located 50km west of the city at altitudes of up to 1,500m. Its a top quality wine region of growing importance. Cool nights moderate temperatures and allow intense flavour compounds to develop in the grapes whilst retaining refreshing acidity.
