The wine...

Furmint

Whilst also famous for producing top quality sweet and sparkling wines, high quality dry white wines made with Furmint are growing in recognition. This wine is as interesting as it is versatile. Fresh and approachable, yet a complex range of fruit and mineral notes that intrigue. Great with light dishes, but excites well enough on its own.

The producer...

Kardos

Kardos is a small, 14 hectare family winery, run by Gábor Kardos and his father. They produce quality sweet and dry wines, closely controlling yields and harvesting selectively to achieve the required standard. Their philosophy is to minimise intervention in the process where possible, allowing the grapes and environment to do their thing.
Tokaj benefits from misty, humid mornings ,and dry, sunny afternoons.

Tokaj

The Tokaj wine region has been on the Unesco World Heritage List since 2002. Whilst the area also produces first class dry and sparkling wines, its most renowned for producing world class sweet wines from Botrytis affected grapes. The surrounding lakes, rivers and mountains provide the perfect conditions for the Noble Rot to flourish, producing grapes with the highest concentration of sugar, backed up by rich dried fruit and honey flavours.
