Dolce by Szóló

Regular price £28.00

A sweet wine from the famous Tokaj region that's beautifully balanced, delicately flavoured and incredibly moreish.

A wine that's been crafted with immense passion and huge attention to detail. Low intervention in terms of additives (this is a natural) wine, but the upmost of care has been taken to grow the highest quality grapes using biodynamic methods.

The high levels of acidity (2021 was a cool year in Tokaj) mean its refreshing as well as sweet. You get gorgeous candied orange peel and peach flavours with a light tough of spice from 20 months maturation in Hungarian oak barrels. A must have wine for your wine rack when friends are over for dinner.

Why we chose it?

A sweet wine with great depth and versality - will pair wonderfully with most desserts, soft cheeses or as an after dinner digestive.

Dolce

Just 3,360 bottles of this stunning sweet wine were made. The grapes have been handled carefully, hand picked and gently pressed before fermentation. Oak barrel ageing adds some subtle vanilla and sweet spice notes. Its a delicate wine but will pair wonderfully with a Tarte Tatin or boozy trifle. Serve cold at around 8 degrees and enjoy!

Tokaj benefits from misty, humid mornings ,and dry, sunny afternoons.
The region...

Tokaj

The Tokaj wine region has been on the Unesco World Heritage List since 2002. Whilst the area also produces first class dry and sparkling wines, its most renowned for producing world class sweet wines from Botrytis affected grapes. The surrounding lakes, rivers and mountains provide the perfect conditions for the Noble Rot to flourish, producing grapes with the highest concentration of sugar, backed up by rich dried fruit and honey flavours.
