An award winning, organic red wine made with Agiorgitiko, an underrated local Greek grape that is starting to gain wider prominence for its power and sophistication.
This top quality red wine is deep in colour, with a rich body, and lovely smooth tannins that feel a little luxurious. Despite coming from a relatively warm region, it still retains a lovely level of acidity which adds freshness.
It’s full of ripe cherry and blackberry flavours, and a hint of vanilla from the light oak ageing. Delicious and great value!

Agiorgitiko
Agiorgitiko is one of Greece's hero grape varieties. It's also highly versatile - its wines can be light and fruity, or rich and ageable, depending on the winemaking. Nikolaou treat the grapes with the utmost care - organic farming, minimal sulphur, indigenous yeast for fermentation and gentle oak ageing. A beautifully balanced wine with a velvety texture. A treat for any occasion. Can last for 5 years.

The Nikolaou winery is a small family run affair, just 12 hectares in total, of which 3 are dedicated to growing Agiorgitiko grapes, which thrive in this region. All decisions taken in the vineyard and winery are made with the quality of the final wine in mind - organic farming, low yields, and a minimal intervention approach. Their wines are beautifully crafted, intriguing and full of personality.
