The Garibaldi, by Grove Estate

Regular price £22.00

This unusual wine is a 50/50 blend of Nebbiolo and Shiraz, two grapes with very different origins and characteristics, that combine fantastically to create something really unique.

Concocted in the Aussie bush, each grape provides something very different - red fruits and firm texture from the Nebbiolo combined with softer black fruit and peppery notes from the Shiraz.

The result is a super tasty and complex red with bags of fruit, flavour and character.

Why we chose it?

Appearing in our ‘favourites’ members box, we love the ingenuity of making perfect companions out of two amazing grapes that are so different.

Garibaldi

An idea first conceived 10 years ago, with Nebbiolo grapes, known more infamously in Barolo wines, planted in the Hilltops region. Far from a classical blend of grapes, but the flavours work so harmoniously. A real crowd pleasing wine that also offers something different. A great topic of conversation for your dinner party.

Grove Estate

Grove Estate grows a variety of grapes - including lesser grown Italian varieties like Barbera and Montepulciano, alongside more established international grapes like Cabernet Sauvignon. The cooler climate allows Grove to be far more innovative with their grape choices than many other Australian regions.

Hilltops

The Hilltops region is a rural area of New-South Wales with green rolling hillsides at around 500m in altitude. This makes it the perfect place for cooler climate grape production and a variety of Italian, Spanish and French grapes are found here. As well as producing award winning wines, it is also the Cherry capital of Australia!
