Sparkling 'Pretty', by Maria and Alex Koppitsch

Regular price £31.00

This immense sparkling rose blends two of our favourite red grapes grapes - Syrah, (or Shiraz) and Blaufrankisch, a grape widely grown across Austria. Amazingly delicious and full of flavour - lemon, baked apples, strawberry. If you aren't that familiar with Austrian wine, this is the perfect wine to change that.

Maria and Alex Koppitsch run a small family operation, disgorging all 3,000 bottles of this wine by hand. By pressing the grapes as whole bunches they’re able to retain the fruity
flavours in the final wine. And that is definitely the case here. To quote them “it smacks you in the face like the most delicious berry punch you’ve ever had”. Yes please.

Why we chose it?

We love winemakers that chose quality over quantity. A wine made with love, packed with flavour, but without taking itself too seriously.

Burgenland

The Austrian climate is perfect for growing high quality grapes. Long, warm, sunny days provide the perfecting ripening conditions. In Burgenland, Lake Neusiedl provides a crucial moderating influence, allowing wines from close to the shores to retain fresher fruit note that fully develop throughout the milder nights.
